We worked with the New Galloway Community Enterprise and supported the work of this proactive group to take over and save the village shop. The village shop in rural New Galloway is an essential service for local residents and visitors to the village. It was threatened with closure due to the retirement of the owner. Creetown Initiative’s role was to provide research and development work, to assist the New Galloway Enterprise group to take over and run the village shop. The shop was refurbished and opened in August 2018.
