Creetown Initiative Ltd is a social enterprise, with the aims of improving life for people in rural communities.
Creetown Initiative Consultancy (now trading as Barholm Enterprise Ltd) started supporting other communities and projects in 2006. Our first consultancy project was to support the development and creation of the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere. Since then we have supported in excess of 80 community projects across Scotland, from Buchanhaven near Peterhead, Caol near Fort William to Kirkcudbright in the South. Since 2006, we have secured £6.7 million for clients’ projects across Scotland and over £4.3 million for our own home-based projects.
Our dedicated and highly experienced team have supported a varied range of projects including project Feasibility Studies, Business Planning, the redevelopment of Castles, Community Asset Transfers, Tourism Projects, Sport and the Arts, Youth Projects, Community Action Plans and major Heritage Projects.
Our understanding of the challenges facing rural and urban communities and the fact that we are practicing consultants delivering our own projects – see Home Projects above – means we are well placed to support groups and projects across a range of subjects.
We provide a range of services tailored to our clients needs which can be fully managed projects or light touch support and advice. We are expert fund raisers with a list of major funding successes to our names, including the CatStrand New Galloway £1.4m, Creetown Enterprise Centre £800k, Johnston School Kirkcudbright £2m and Theatre Royal Dumfries £1.1m.
We have supported the development of major festivals, including Stranraer Oyster Festival and Kirkcudbright Festival of Light and we have carried out business reviews for key projects for groups like the Whithorn Trust.
Our passion is helping communities prosper. We can help you, give us a call.
