Building works are now underway to redevelop Johnston School in Kirkcudbright into a Dark Skies Visitor Centre and Planetarium, a permanent venue for Kirkcudbright Youth Project, a store and workshop for Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities, offices for Kirkcudbright Development Trust, a casual meeting space, a Gin Distillery and Visitor Centre, a Pottery Business and a Child Care Centre.
During the first week in September, the contractors, RH Irving Construction, commenced the refurbishment works. Totalling £2.6m, Creetown Initiative worked hard to raise these funds over 18 months on behalf of Kirkcudbright Development Trust and we are delighted to see the project coming to fruition.
