Akin to all charities and third sector organisations, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, government restrictions and social distancing have all had an impact on Creetown Initiative and it’s operations. However our office consultancy staff have adapted and have all been working from home. Thankfully we did not have to furlough any of our staff from all departments.
Barholm

The Barholm Enterprise Centre has been closed to the general public and tourists, however has provided emergency accommodation for certified key workers during the lockdown. Barholm staff have been able to use this time to carry out work around the building in preparation for reopening. The Barholm Accommodation officially reopens on Wednesday 15th July, with all safety procedures in place. We are pleased to already see lots of bookings coming in. We are looking forward to welcoming new visitors and of course our regular guests too. For booking enquiries, please contact 01671 820810, go to the Barholm Accommodation website, or email jenny.barholm@gmail.com or panny.barholm@gmail.com.
Ferry Friends
The Ferry Friends team have been carrying out socially distanced doorstep visits to members, assisting with hot meal deliveries and food supplies where appropriate. We have also provided Lockdown Packs to our Ferry Friends members, which have included recipes, activities, games, help and information resources. Please visit the Ferry Friends facebook page for up to date information.
Youth Work

The Youth Work team have also been busy putting together themed Lockdown Packs to all members of the Creetown Senior Youth Club and Creetown Friday Night Youth Sports Club. These have included games, activities, healthy snacks and drinks, some sweets, sports equipment, self-help equipment and resources, colouring, recipes and arts supplies. The youth workers have delivered these packs to the young people’s doorsteps, receiving a great response from the young people and their families. The youth work activities will be able to resume when we get the go-ahead to use the Waverley Hall once again.
