Creetown Initiative is pleased to have secured the contract to carryout a Feasibility Study for “Local Initiatives in New Galloway” (LING).
Town Hall
The study will look at whether it is feasible for the group to take ownership of the New Galloway Town Hall, which is situated in the heart of New Galloway in the Glenkens, Dumfries and Galloway. The Town Hall was formerly run by Dumfries and Galloway Council, however its management has now been taken over by LING, a registered Scottish Charity. The purpose of LING is to promote regeneration in New Galloway and Kells Parish, but more specifically its initial focus has been on saving the Town Hall from closure and resurrecting it to its central role in village life.
Creetown Initiative will be carrying out community consultations, research and costings and will produce a Feasibility Study to establish whether it is feasible for LING to take ownership of the building.
